OK, maybe this singing thing ain't so bad...

OK, I'm kinda loving this voice coach. Ruth Williams Hennessy. She teaches in Astoria but turns out she also teaches right down the street in my own neighborhood.  How did I get so lucky?  You wished me luck, didn't you!?  Yeah, I thought so.

I have to say that I showed up at her Astoria studio last Friday like a scared little kitten, prepared for the absolute worst voice to come out of my untrained vocal chords.  But, while it wasn't exactly birds and chipmunks when I finally let my little voice out, I sure did leave there feeling like I could sound pretty decent in 4 weeks.

Today marks my 3rd lesson and I've improved by leaps and bounds. Remember I mentioned my vast & vivid imaginings?  Well, they're looking a lot more optimistic!

I think this singing adventure is going to be alright after all.
